Civic United carries Mugen style sport grille for 2006-2008 Honda Civic 2 Door Coupe, and a lot of our customers concern about the installation.  We did some research online and found a very useful step by step installation guide on 8thcivic posted by senior member ortivt6.  We will post the useful information in this article and hope that our customer can have an idea how to install the grille.  Again, we give all credit and appreciation to ortivt6 from 8thcivic forum.

Note that the 06-08 Civic grille we install in this installation guide is not the exact one as shown above, but the installation step is pretty much the same.

There are two ways to install these 06-08 Honda Civic sport grille. You can either remove the front bumper or you can actually do it without removing the bumper, but be warned you must have flexible arms, know how to take clips without be able to look, and get tons of scrathches in your amrs.

Step 1.
Remove the clips on the black plastic covers. There are 3 on the left side, 2 on the right side, and 2 more on the platic cover that lays on top of the radiator.

Step 2.
Now remove the 2 botls that hold the Front bumper to the frame support.

Step 3.
Now, the bumper is loose from the frame.  There are 4 clips under the grill holding the grill down to the bumper. You must put your arm thru the top of the bumper and reach for the clips that are underneath the grill.  Remember you can’t see the clips if you choose to keep the front bumper on, so if you are not confident that you can do it without look, we recommend you removing the bumper and it might end up save your time as well.

Step 4.
Now behind the grill there are 4 bolts with washers and 2 clips. Once you remove the 4 washers then you can press the clips off and the grill will come off.

Step 5.
Now take off the stock Honda Civic grill.

Step 6.
Now those 4 bolts with washers that are attach to the grill must be taken off and put on the new grill.

Step 7.
Now get the bumper ready to have the 06-08 Honda civic Mugen grille install. First thing clean up the bumper area where the grill will be installed.

Step 8.
Now apply alcohol to the whole area where the grill will be installed.  This is done since the Mugen grill have double sided tape on the bottom of the grill, and the 4 clips on the bottom won’t be used with the Mugen grill.

Step 9.
Now installed the Honda Civic Mugen grill.  Use the 4 washers on the 4 bolts that are attach to the grill.  Press on the 2 clips. ( The grille will look different if you install our 06-08 Honda Civic Mugen Grille )

Step 10.
Now take the platic off the double sided tape and press. ( Depends on if the grille you purchase come with the double side tape or not, if no double side tape, this step can be skipped )

You are done and Here is some picture of how your Honda Civic FG Coupe will look like:
